Student Experiences
I can describe my experience of studying at the University of VITEZ as extremely positive and valuable. I completed the first cycle of studies at a public university in 2002, earning 180 ECTS credits in accordance with the Bologna system. At the University of VITEZ, I continued my education and completed the fourth year of study. After that, I successfully completed the second cycle of studies as well.
I graduated from the Medical High School in Sarajevo, specializing in physiotherapy, and immediately started working at the “Aquaterm” Spa and Recreation Center in Olovo. After several years of professional experience, I decided to further improve my knowledge and enrolled in part-time studies at the University of VITEZ, Faculty of Health Studies. Despite a very demanding work schedule, I successfully managed all the obligations of both my part-time studies and regular job, and I am currently a third-year student.
At the Faculty of Business Economics, I completed my undergraduate studies in Entrepreneurial Management and immediately enrolled in a master’s program after graduation. The Faculty of Business Economics offers a comprehensive approach to key aspects of business, from management, finance, and marketing to strategic decision-making, all of which are essential in a dynamic business environment. Studying at this faculty provides a strong foundation for success in a future career.
Studying at the Faculty of Information Technology at the University of Vitez has been one of the most important and inspiring experiences in my academic and professional journey. The academic programme is designed to keep pace with the latest developments in information technology, providing not only a strong theoretical foundation but also practical skills that are highly valued in today’s job market. Each course is carefully structured to ensure the development of key competencies required for a successful career in the IT sector. The professors are exceptionally knowledgeable and dedicated to their work. Their openness to discussion and willingness to support students at every stage of the learning process make studying both engaging and rewarding. I particularly appreciate their ability to connect theory with real-world practice, encouraging us to think critically and apply our knowledge in practical situations. Their lectures are not only educational but also a source of inspiration for continuous learning and professional growth. In addition, the Faculty of Information Technology stands out for its excellent infrastructure, well-equipped library, and access to modern digital tools that greatly enhance the learning experience. I would especially highlight the opportunities to participate in various projects and research activities, which provide valuable hands-on experience and further prepare students for the challenges of the industry. All of these elements, combined with the support and motivation I received from both professors and fellow students, have strengthened my confidence and prepared me for my professional career. My name is Maida Muratović, and I am a fourth-year student at the Faculty of Law, enrolled in the Security and Criminalistics study programme. Throughout my studies, I have achieved significant accomplishments that have contributed to my academic and professional development. One of the most important milestones in my educational journey has been serving as a student demonstrator in criminalistics courses under the mentorship of Professor Adnan Pirić, PhD. As a demonstrator, I had the opportunity to share my knowledge and assist fellow students in the field of criminalistics. This experience allowed me to deepen and strengthen my understanding of the subject while developing many of the skills and competencies typically cultivated by teaching assistants and academic staff. Serving as a demonstrator during my studies is a valuable opportunity reserved for dedicated and disciplined students. For me, it has been an invaluable experience that has significantly contributed to my professional growth, personal development, and preparation for a future career in the field.

For many years, I have worked in the field of special education, which is why I chose to pursue studies in Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy. My motivation for enrolling in the Information Technology programme was, above all, the desire to complement my practical experience with additional knowledge in areas that I had not had the opportunity to explore in depth through my professional work. As someone who is already employed in the IT sector and has been passionate about information technology from an early age, pursuing a degree in this field was a natural and logical choice for me. The diversity of the study programme, the flexible study options, and the dedication of the professors, teaching assistants, and the entire University staff have made my academic experience both rewarding and inspiring. For these reasons, I would confidently recommend the University of Vitez and the Faculty of Information Technology to all young people who are still deciding on their future educational path.
My primary motivation for enrolling in the Healthcare Management programme was the opportunity to acquire new skills and gain knowledge in the areas covered by this field of study, which I could then apply in my current professional role. The programme has provided me with valuable insights into healthcare management, organisation, and leadership, enabling me to better understand the challenges and opportunities within the healthcare sector. I highly recommend the Healthcare Management programme, primarily because of the outstanding quality of its professors and the way they share their knowledge and experience with students. Equally important is their approachability, dedication, and willingness to provide support and guidance whenever needed. Maja Kapković, one of our proud alumni and a postgraduate student at the Faculty of Health Studies, shared her championship journey and experience of studying at the University of Vitez: “During my four years of study at the Faculty of Health Studies at the University of Vitez, I experienced many wonderful moments and gained invaluable knowledge and experience. Every professor, teaching assistant, and administrative staff member dedicated themselves to helping us learn, encouraging us in our achievements, and supporting us even when we felt like giving up. They believed in us. As I mentioned, they stood by our side during the most challenging moments. I would especially like to acknowledge my teaching assistant, Ms. Tanja Bavrka, MSc in Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy, who has been an important part of my journey, a contributor to the success of our University, and an incredible source of support not only for me but for many other students as well. I am currently a fifth-year student at the University of Vitez, studying Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy, and a member of the team at the Bauer Body Regeneration Centre in Zenica. Last year, I participated in a massage competition for the first time, held in July 2023. Competing in the Student/Beginner category, I was proud to win third place. Throughout the competition, I had the full support of my teaching assistant, Tanja. In April of this year, I competed in a championship in Novi Sad, where I achieved first place. However, my greatest success so far came when I participated in the World Massage Championship held in Greece. I competed in the Sports Massage category and was honoured to win first place. In addition, my colleagues representing Bosnia and Herzegovina's massage professionals also achieved outstanding results, earning another gold medal, a bronze medal, and a fourth-place finish in a highly competitive category. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the staff and faculty of my University, because none of this would have been possible without their support.”
After graduating from a secondary school of economics, I decided to continue my education at the Faculty of Business Economics, specializing in Finance, Accounting and Auditing, as it was a field that genuinely interested me and offered the opportunity to develop my professional competencies. The Faculty provided me not only with a strong theoretical foundation but also with practical skills that are essential for success in today’s business environment. Upon completing my studies, my career progressed steadily. I began my professional journey at PepsiCo, and today I serve as a Senior Underwriting Officer / Credit Risk Manager at Raiffeisen Bank, where I apply the knowledge and expertise gained during my studies on a daily basis. Studying at the Faculty of Business Economics is undoubtedly an investment in your future—both in terms of the knowledge you acquire and the career opportunities it opens in the job market.
My motivation for enrolling in the Healthcare Management programme was the desire to acquire the knowledge necessary to contribute to the improvement and advancement of the healthcare system in Bosnia and Herzegovina. I would highly recommend the Healthcare Management programme to all students who wish to gain a deeper understanding of healthcare systems, procedures, and regulations. After completing my studies, I was employed by UniCredit Bank as a Transaction Banking Officer, and I currently work as a Financial Banking Officer. During my studies, I acquired knowledge and skills that I continue to apply both in my professional career and in everyday life. I would particularly highlight the courses related to sales and communication, through which I developed practical competencies that have significantly helped me in performing my daily work responsibilities.
